–Around You–

Everything seems to move

differently around you.

My quiet heart stutters

and butterflies rise

in the pit of my stomach.

Your crooked smile that

seems like a smirk

to the oblivious world

does wonders to my heart,

kinda makes it flip.

All logic flies away

from my witty brain.

Words seem to lose

their way out of

my chatter box of a mouth.

My eyes forget to

blink and look at

you instead like a toy

in an expensive shop;

all bright and shiny.

My feet turn to lead

and sometimes jelly.

Neither helps as I look

like a fumbling idiot

who trips on a flat floor.

I walk on the sidelines

to save the embarrassment

hide behind the glasses

and read my Shakespeare

invisible as humanly possible.

Didn’t turn out that well

Oh, did it? Hardly.

Sonnets that were supposed

to be my dear distraction,

turned me into a magnet.

Couldn’t believe my eyes

as you very slowly

and somewhat reluctantly

walked up to me and said,

“You like Shakespeare too?”

I think it was

the start of something new…

  1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜. Beautifully captured the feelings we have all gone through. Remember, he feels even clumsier and more weak kneed. Nice job. πŸ‘πŸ½

  2. Yes Meghal. I could make out very little since found beyond my imagination. All We always come across from such feelings which are strictly beyond our control. If we surpass we are winner of all above them which we see or which are on our path.
